The key answers for Wyter’s launch, grouped by topic.
Wyter is launching soon. Buying and payments are not available yet.
Launch and account
Can I already buy or sell?
Not yet. Join the waitlist without obligation and confirm your email. We will tell you when we launch. Our target is 1,000 confirmed registrations; testing and operational acceptance must also be complete.
Who is Wyter for?
People aged 18 or over, with their residence, item and delivery address in Switzerland. Private sellers and secondhand shops can take part. The marketplace rules list permitted goods.
Do I need to show my ID?
The payment provider identifies sellers before their first public listing. You need personal details, the requested identity evidence and a payout account. Buyers are checked based on risk. Use the protected verification process for documents, never listings or chats.
Selling and fees
What does a sale cost?
The fee is 5% of what the seller receives plus CHF 0.50 per purchase. It is already included in the displayed item price. Example: you receive CHF 100, the buyer pays CHF 105.50, before shipping. The same fee applies to collection.
Can I sell something for one franc?
Yes. You can enter CHF 1 as what you want to receive. The item price becomes CHF 1.55, including the fee. Shipping is extra if needed.
How do automatic price drops work?
Choose how much and how often the price drops, and set your minimum proceeds. Only you and Wyter see this minimum. Automatic purchasing when a price falls is not available at launch.
Do I need AI to list an item?
No. You can enter text and add photos yourself. If you like, connect your own AI, such as ChatGPT or Claude. It helps with listings and translations. It cannot buy or pay.
Can I bring my own Ricardo listings?
Yes, the app’s import copies your own offers with photos and descriptions. It does not automatically end the Ricardo offer. If that offer remains active, you must end it on Ricardo before confirming the Wyter purchase.
Buying and handover
What does buyer protection include?
Buyer protection is included in the Wyter fee, with no extra charge. Your money is released after confirmed handover or the inspection period ends. Report a problem in the order before the deadline to put the payout on hold. The refund rules apply to confirmed failure to ship, loss or a significant difference from the description. This protection is not insurance or a general right of return.
Is my purchase immediately binding?
Yes. Available offers are paid for and reserved at purchase. If stock confirmation is required, payment is first authorised. Seller confirmation within 12 hours triggers the charge automatically; otherwise the authorisation is released. You see the exact process before authorising it.
When and how does shipping work?
With an integrated postal label and tracking, up to an item price of CHF 5,000 excluding postage. Normally post within 7 calendar days. Sellers can set up to 30 days before purchase; exceptions are highlighted. Creating a label alone is not proof of posting.
How does collection work?
Pay online and the item is reserved. Arrange handover in the chat within 14 calendar days, extendable together to 30. Inspect the item in person first. Scanning the seller’s QR confirms handover and releases their proceeds.
When do I receive my money?
For collection, the buyer releases proceeds with the QR scan. For shipping, they are released after the inspection period if no problem has been reported. The payout is then instructed immediately. Bank credit can take additional time.
What if a parcel is lost?
Contact us through the order. We check the shipping evidence. For a confirmed loss, the buyer receives the full amount paid. Seller compensation depends on postal coverage and its conditions. Value-based extras are included in postage; suitable packaging and permitted contents remain essential.
Problems and returns
The item is wrong or faulty. What should I do?
Report the problem in the order within 3 calendar days of confirmed delivery. Before expiry, you can extend once to 7 days in total. Reporting on time holds the payout. For a confirmed significant discrepancy, the full amount including the fee and outbound postage is refunded; the seller also pays necessary return postage.
Can I return something because I do not like it?
For a correctly described private sale, Wyter adds no return right solely for changing your mind or a correctly stated size that does not fit. The seller can agree voluntarily. Statutory rights remain unaffected.
How does an agreed return work?
Once the paid return label and address are available, you have 7 calendar days to post, extendable together to 14. The seller inspects the delivered return within 3 days, extendable once to 7. Earlier confirmation of correct receipt triggers the refund request immediately; otherwise it is requested at expiry if no problem was reported.
How can I contact Wyter?
Email hallo@wyter.ch. We aim for an initial reply within two working days. For a purchase problem, also use “Report a problem” in the order before the deadline so the payout is held.
